Discovery Call Internal Form

The purpose of this call is to focus on you and your goals, with the core objective to help you and I to understand how I can best help you.

  • Out of curiosity, is it brand design you were initially looking for, or additional design support within your current brand style – or is it both?

  • Great! Would it be ok to ask a few questions about you and your business?

I hear [ insert concern ] is important to you. Before we talk about [what they enquired about], Would it be okay if I asked a few questions to get an understanding of your business & goals a bit first?

Tell me a little about your business, business goals this year and what you’re aiming to achieve?
When you think about your current brand would you say it’s:  working well for you / kinda average or not particularly aligned with your goals / vision?
Who are they? Tell me a bit about them... How do you get their attention now? How’s that working? What are the kinds of clients you want to attract once you have your brand redone?
I'd love to better understand your business & clients by getting a feel for where you sit in your market/industry... Is it highly competitive or are there a few major players? What do you sell X product/project for? What are the main obstacles (if any) you get?
How do you currently go about [designing materials / boosting leads / marketing strategy]? On a scale of 1 - 5, where does your current process fit? 1 being inefficient and low quality, 5 being amazing, works on time every time

What we've spoken about is that the purpose of why we're talking today is because you're keen to [insert goal: get better quality leads, people aren't picking up/reading your documents, be proud to hand over your business card] and that's a problem that we obviously want to fix!

Two quick questions:

  • Is this an urgent or not so urgent kind of thing?

  • And are you thinking sooner or later? Sooner like gets get started

(get approval that they need this now, rather than a 'nice to have')

We do have three key options here, and based on what you’ve shared, I suggest it’s one of these two that will work best.. 


  • - Option One would be to get things underway to really nail down the brand needs for now – focusing on the logos, colours, fonts & getting the visual foundations locked and loaded for [insert brand name]


  • - Option Two gets you sorted for right now and moving forward – it includes the brand piece I just mentioned, plus ongoing design collaboration to make sure you’ve always got the design assets for the opportunities and business growth that come your way following our initial work. (ie:
    For example .. you mentioned attending trade shows, adding in promotional material is part of your marketing strategy too. … or whatever they said that makes you think this is a good option)

So from here, the next steps are that I’ll send across a proposal with an overview of what we’ve discussed, so you can confirm the scope… and once you sign the proposal we’re ready to go!
